An incredible historical place with traditional state of the art decor. Service was top-notch!! We had to have their wine. It was the largest wine menu I ever saw, and I'm a wino contour. Overall, it made my stop and Nassau magical.

We dined at the hotel; we did not stay at the hotel. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Nassau, the hotel is a beautiful old property which is extremely well maintained. So much beauty to take in, if you appreciate the charm of older properties. The staff are all friendly and professional. Piano lounge was magnificent. Food and cocktails were outstanding. Prices are at the higher end of the spectrum. Can't wait to visit again one day.

We were on a cruise, and I booked directly with Greycliff for their famous afternoon tea. You pay in advance for the tea and gratuity. Google says it was a 13 minute walk from the cruise pier, but it was really about 30 minutes total since we we had to walk about 3 cruise ship lengths on the pier to exit. I had printed a map before we left home, since we would not have have cell phone service. It felt like a safe walk from the ship to Greycliff. There was a man in the triangular crosswalk selling a few snacks in his stand, and he gave us pointers on where to cross safely. We arrived an hour early. Derrick, the host greeted us warmly and graciously invited us to take a walk in the garden or sit in the sitting room area while we waited until the kitchen opened and then he would be glad to seat us early. We walked down the stairs to the garden, past the moss covered statues, to the pretty mosaic pool. There was a fish pond with koi and turtles, and I sat on a padded chair to watch the tall bamboo sway in the breeze. 30 minutes before our 12:30 pm reservation, we checked back, and Derrick gave us a lovely table with a view of the Governor's house. This mansion dating back to 1726 retains its charming, historic elegance where royalty and celebrities have dined and stayed. Major, our waiter, was warm, friendly, and made us feel like "beautiful people" and well taken care of. He happily indulged my picture taking and enthusiastically took several pictures for us. The Caribbean tea he recommended was a lovely complement to the sandwiches and desserts without being too fruity or sweet. Definitely come hungry, it was a huge tea with whole sandwiches cut into four slices: egg salad with a spike of onion, smoked salmon with onion and capers on a bagel, cheese, and cucumber sandwiches. There was chocolate cake, coconut cake, two types of cookies, a scone, and Greycliff chocolates. Major took excellent care of us keeping our tea cups filled with a smile. We had a lovely experience! Thank you! The bathroom is located down steps off the porch. It would be a challenge for those with mobility constraints. Over 30 years before, I had come to Greycliff for a lunch on my college graduation trip. I had wanted to dine at a 5 star restaurant and where celebrities ate (Winston Churchill, Roger Moore, Brooke Shields). I remembered the attentive service and elegant environment. It was my first time in such a fancy restaurant. It was a very special experience to return again and see the gardens and pool this time. A little further past Greycliff is their chocolate shop as well as a place to get cold chocolate drinks. I had a sample of the chilled white chocolate, and it was so delicious. There is also a wine making/tasting place along the block, and you can mix your own wine through a Greycliff class.

I can only speak on the restaurant here as we had the 7 course lunch. But everything was great and perfect. I must mention Major , our server , his assistant, and the lovely elderly Bahamian lady who greeted us upon arrival and checked in on us thru lunch. I’m not a wine drinker at all and I enjoyed the wines and perfectly paired. Also definitely go on the wine cellar tour and see the bottle of wine from 1737 that’s still there , the $1M wine wall , the endless maze of rooms of wine storage ( I won’t spoil the suprise of what their wine cellar used to be , or the celebs who have dined in the secret wine cellar dining room ).

This restaurant is absolutely delicious and a treasure trove of different and unique liquors. The staff was wonderful and extremely attentive to any needs during the meal. We had the amazing pleasure of being able to visit the wine selection and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Definitely recommend a visit to Graycliff!

Just spent one night at the infamous Graycliff. If you are looking for a real historian, colonial bahamian feeling this is the hotel for you. If you're in to luxury and high standards, this is not for you. For us personally it was perfect! Yes, it could use some TLC, but it made up for that with all the history it has to boost. On top of that, and contrary to all the negative comments, we experienced the staff to be absolutely top notch - very friendly and attentive! We definitely have nothing negative to say about them! We also enjoyed having a night cap at the piano lounge with lovely life music - could not have asked for a better evening. And thinking of if those walls could talk - so much history there!

!!!WATCH OUT THIS IS PLACE IS A SCAM, THEY ARE CON MEN!!! We did not stay at this hotel (thank god) we went there to dinner and were scamed by them. We had a wonderful meal, and a few drinks. They gave us the bill when we informed them that we would like to have a cigar and 1 additional drink they took the bill back and when they came back it was 100% higher, they had doubled the bill! When we disputed it and asked to see itemized copies of the bill and menu they refused. We knew we were being scammed but it was late and we were one of the few patrons left in the restaurant, as the staff got more adjugated and rude we felt unsafe and paid and left. I suggest avoiding this place as all costs the staff is running a scam on tourists! If you do wish to go here take pictures of the menu so you can audit your bill and do not order ANYTHING without confirming it on a menu.
